Rentals in places like Edinburgh are collapsing. Many University students are having to live over 20 miles away because there is nothing available nearer.
Many BTL landlords are selling up as new tax rules and higher mortgage costs mean they are making a loss. Or moving their property to AIRBNB type accommodation.
Meanwhile the amount of new houses built last year was dire and would have been so if the population had stayed the same…which of course it didn’t.
I dont know how those on benefits find anything on LHA levels. Pensioners are particularly struggling it seems and the press suggests many elderly people are being forced to move back in with adult children for a time.
