Yes, I see no problem with opting in at all other than the fact that many people opt in who either believe it wasn’t a choice or who actually aren’t equipped to manage things digitally.

I also find it frustrating that some of the systems available to do this do allow an option to ask people to refresh their details but the option never gets enabled. There is at least one local authority, the name escapes me now as I read about this about a year ago, which operates a system whereby you opt in; get a 1 year reminder to confirm your details as unchanged or change them and, if you don’t, then it reverts you to paper. After year one that has apparently been pretty successful at obtaining up to date information.
