The protection for HB not ending is if they were already receiving HB/PGCGC under pension age rules in MAy 2019 – they werent because they were both working age then
the SDP is a not relevant – that related to new claims for HB
Your couple didnt need to make a new claim, they were already getting it
Now they are pension age, and theres no IS/JSA in payment for the younger partner, HB should end as the younger member of the couple should claim UC
I sat “should” because its not unheard of for the DWP to “swap” clamt/partner roles on passported benefits – but it shouldnt happen
HB ends because they are now a mixes age couple
