Reading Darren’s comments I do wonder how local authority’s HB services have got here. We have had to run down our resources over the past few years, and lots are now surviving using Agency staff as it is near impossible to recruit experienced team members or train junior staff. Yet we now being asked more and more to become experts on the needs and levels of support services and the minefield of different types of supported and exempt accommodation. 2nd tier L/A’s are now really struggling to cover all the bases across an ever widening remit.
