I agree – if your scheme says “we use the UC figures” and that means the applicable amount is based onthe max award rather than traditional allowances and premiums then thats what you have.
A discretionary award may be appropriaye – but i think tou still neeed to look at affordability/income etc – giving a discretionary award because someone doesnt get as much CTS on UC as they would under the “old” rules is a pretty low bar – its not an exceptional set of circumstances for a customer to find themselves in.
