It is a daft answer. Not because it is wrong. Far from it. But because the system (macs) is so complex.

The latest estimate is that a MAC couple can lose between £7000 and £8000 per year between HB (pension age) and UC (working age). That is actually lower than the original DWP estimates taking into account the various upratings. Biggest loss in the welfare state that I can think of

I am guessing here but I cannot see how the current transitional protection will remain past next year and managed migration. The complexity as and when MAC claimants have changes in circumstances. After all, the idea behind UC was to simplify the system and make it much simpler and easier to administer.
