My understanding with any change of circumstances is that the date of change is the first day when the new circumstances apply, so in this case your mother died on a Sunday.

The first day when the new circumstances apply is the following day, ie the Monday which is the start of the benefit week so she, or in this case her estate are entitled to benefit for that week

Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery. The blossom is blighted, the leaf is withered, the god of day goes down upon the dreary scene, and—and in short you are for ever floored.
