i think it depends what the tenancy agreement says – some say that the agreement can only be ended on a full month anniversary as well as giving the specific notice period ( so if it started on 16th of April 2022 , and the agreement said it was for 12 months, and then after that it could end at the end of a rent period by gicving 1 months notice, then the earliest they could end their tenancy be could be ended would be 15 May – evwen if they moved out before that.
Some agreements just stat that a full months notice needs to be given and the final rent amount is adjusted accordingly.
