Yes indeed. Pensioners are paid from the usual date under the HB pension regs and will usually gain by the switch from one benefit UC to another HB. Claimants don’t get much but here is one example where they usually do. There is nothing in the regs to stop them going a “bonus”. It does not matter what UC do…the HB regs are applied in the normal way.
