Hi all, picking up on this old post and blowing the cobwebs out of my own brain. We have a case which has been in payment for some time, 1 bedroom property and the claimant meets all the conditions required to have an additional bedroom in respect of a carer apart from actually having a bedroom for them to sleep in. Rent is very high and a DHP has been paid in the past to help.
Now been advised that tenant has started to have a carer who stay occasionally and sleeps on a put me up bed in the lounge. Don’t think the lounge has been designated solely as a bedroom but either way, could the tenant now received the 2 bed LHA rate living in a one bed flat?
