Reply To: full case reviews and temp accommodation


I’m not sure there’s anything that specifically mentions how the review should be undertaken. We’ve tried in our temporary accommodation claims to keep them to telephone reviews and if that has failed contacted the Housing Solutions caseworker for them to complete it with the individual during their rounds – which are then followed with any questions.

We know that what the rent levels are for the placements; Searchlight confirms UC (or on the rare occasion a legacy benefit) and everything else is rarely out of the ordinary.

I have wondered what type of verification the DWP might look to do one day to check that the reviews have been as substantial as they expect and just to cover ourselves really we are insisting on a review form to be completed in some manner for each.

And yeah, we’ve suspended if the form hasn’t been returned – but also notified their caseworker as to why.
