However two views expressed in the past. Firstly DWP said they would fund recovery staff after working age HB had closed. Secondly the outgoing head of the DWP, Robert Devereux said at a parliamentary committee that local authorities had had a lot of subsidy on overpayments and that some had made a decent profit….thus no more cash would be given.
