Many customers would prefer to complete a form as long as this is easy to do and asks only the relevant questions. The bizarre suggestion that we should continue to pay without having all the facts will just lead to large overpayments which in practice Tribunals will almost certainly classify as LA “official errors”. The other danger is that staff will forget to refer claims to the RO and / or apply the correct rules to rent restriction. What if the landlord changes etc? The potential for error is immense. Customers want a fast service but they also want the LA to get it
right first time and not keep bombarding them with bits and pieces of interim payments.
Why not just put buckets of cash on the steps of your Town Hall? Much easier.
