Happens all the time. I would issue a revised O/P notification and proceed with the appeal against that decision. If the appellant genuinely thinks the initial overpayment is still outstanding, or maybe s/he doesn’t realise that the new info was taken into account, you might want to give him a chance to withdraw the appeal…
