We’ll be encouraging landlords to report rent arrears before they get to 8 weeks.
It makes sense to contact the claimant to ascertain the reason(s) for any arrears and suspend if necessary (a recent CD pretty much OK’s this course of action I think).
Also, by contacting us sooner, we may pick up people under the “unlikely to pay” heading rather than wait for them to fall under the 8 week provision.
