We have received a claim for HB from a UC claimant that became pension age in December 2023. He was receiving UC at the single rate as his partner does not have recourse. He has just been awarded PCGC. This is a mixed age couple and the partner is working. HB has been awarded including the partner.

How should she be treated in the claim, should she be included as the partner or left out of the household?

If he’s passported, it wont make any different to the HB award anyway – for HB purposes, a mixed age couple where the younger has no recourse to public funds, the older member can claim HB ( and assessed under pension age regs) but is treated as a single claimant, the (younger) partner is excluded from the assessment
On Northgate this is done via a personal status , not sure about other systems
