    Hi all.

has anyone encountered the RO stating they must now conduct visits on re-referral or new referral for all SEA sites?

they are refusing to give a decision on a new site and stating they must visit it first…. with a time frame of between 6-12 weeks till a visit can be undertaken!

has anyone had new referrals’ for any voluntary site accepted recently?

    thanks

yes, some visit are taking in place in our area as well along with rent officer decision review. Time frame is around two weeks but relies on the tenant cooperating. We have had calls from tenants affected wondering why a visit is now required when their claims have been in payment for some time.

I am not surprised. There is new legislation and a lot of publicity about this entire area so I suspect someone has had a “word” with the management of the RO. More likely Michael Gove’s department rather than DWP.

We’ve had visits in our area and the rent officer is speaking to the tenants with regards to what support is actually provided.

Why would the rent officer care what support is provided?

I’m not sure, but they definitely are speaking to customers and asking the question in our area.

We have had one referred back to us from the rent officer as the customer made a statement to them that the providers offer no support at all.
