2nd Adult Rebate – non-dep has rental income???

    We have a second adult rebate case where the non-dependant owns a second property and receives rental income from this.

    Can anyone shed any light as to whether we would use the rent as income for the non-dependant or is it capital? Also if we do use the rental income, would we use the gross amount or the rental income minus any mortgage and expenses, i.e. letting agents fees.


    The rental income is income. There are no capital provisions for non-deps/2nd adults, but actual income from capital should be taken into account as income.
