    Hi everyone.

I was wondering if you could help with a little issue i’m having regarding counting days for 52 week rent officer decisions.

I’ve always been of the understanding that the days start counting once the information is received in the office from the rent service. But today i’ve been told that this may be wrong and we need to be counting the days from the date the previous decision runs out.

Thank you for any help you can give me.

I didn’t think we did count them? I’m sure we;ve been told we can supress stats on annual rent officer decision. Opps ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

I have not been at any authority that counts the 52 week ROR for stats only the initial ROD counts for stats unless there has been a change in circs ๐Ÿ˜•

We count them at our authority. Circular A13/2009 Appendix 4 point 31 states that they are counted. I’d be interested to know why you don’t count them.

I’m glad someone else agrees with me I was starting to worry, see HB/CTB A5/2008 and A13 2009.

How do you count your days i.e what date would you use to start your count from.

Historically we never have done … but looking at A13/2009 it looks like we should!!!

We start the count from the day the decision is received from the Rent Service.
Ours are received electronically so it’s the date on event log that the decision was received (we use Academy). Basically, you can’t input any decision until you’ve received it!

Ah! this was a change in the way PMs were counted back in April 2008 see HB/CTB A3/2007…. Guess things things have to be updated here then. ๐Ÿ™

Just had time to check the circulars and it seems the 52wk ROR is only counted for The โ€˜Right Benefitโ€™ indicator which will measure the annual number of increases and decreases in HB/CTB entitlement not the time taken. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

If you read the FAQ’s on the DWP website on Right Time indicator it includes details of how to count the time taken to assess 52 week rent officer decisions. I don’t think these would be included if it was only meant to be measured against the Right Benefit Indicator. Which circular did you find this info in?

We count them & from the date the RO decision is made/rec’d
