Due to DWP’s metamorphosis which appears to have been underway for ages they have stockpiled the PINS application forms for foundation level 1 – 7 with the excuse that their new e-learning package will be available from April 2006. However we all know how their timescales run, so the question is…..

Does anyone have an alternative source for new investigators?

(Already tried LAIOG but no reply received)

Not sure what you want – if it is training for new investigators etc then there are two companies that get good reports. ITS training and Bond Solon. We have used the former for AO, LT and Fraud Awareness courses and they are very good. They run an BTEC course for investigators which I have heard to be a lot better than PINS. I have not used Bond Solon but have heard that they are also very good. Both firms can be found on the internet.

    Hope this helps.

    Andrew,

Thanks for this, I am aware of both these companies, but neither can deliver training specifically for the differing legislation up here in Scotland at present. There is also the added burden of cost as they don’t come north of the border a lot and would not come unless we could fill the courses.

BTEC is not a qualification I am overly familiar with, but I believe that it is not one that is delivered in Scotland. :27:

Sorry I did not realise you were so far north – The only other place to try would be through NAFN, if you are a member and have access to their website you could try a post on that forum.

    Regards

    Andrew
