I have an adjudication that involves capital going back over the past 7 years and my question is –

do you have to amend the claim for every time the capital changes the tariff income, or can you average out the capital over periods or just take the balance at the beginning of each financial year.

my first thought is to amend at each change to the tariff income – but this would mean amending and creating line breaks that involve well over 20 changes and that is only the past few years, never mind checking the older years – 🙄

So, is there any easier way of processing a case like this or am I stuck with this case for the next few days 😕

I would say that you are stuck with it, and it may be worse than you think now! Don’t forget the diminishing capital rule, where you have to reduce the actual capital every 13 weeks by the total OP for the previous periods.

I’ve got a spreadsheet which may help save a little time, which I can email to you, but I’ve always had to assess in separate 13-week periods to get anywhere.

Please could I be cheeky and have a copy of the spreadsheet. As I am doing overpayment training and can never get my head around the DC rule.

    Thank you
