My Authority is now creating a separate post of Appeals Officer on the premise that this will lead to consistency.
Has anyone experienced any problems (other then volume!)with just one person being so respoinsible as we had previously had Hb team leaders all involved in submissions and atending Tribunals.
    Any views appreciated.

It might not be a good idea to have all your eggs in one basket…….

I’m not sure of your workload but at the moment I share appeals – and a whole load of other jobs with another senior officer.

In my previous authority there were 4 of us

Both arrangements mean that if anything happens to one officer there is always someone else who can deal with the appeals – or other jobs

Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery. The blossom is blighted, the leaf is withered, the god of day goes down upon the dreary scene, and—and in short you are for ever floored.

Thanks John, that was pretty much my view. I also feel that my fellow Senior Officers would lose some knowledge by having just one dedicated officer. As for the workload well to be honest dont think thats even been factored in. Hey ho! :X
