We recently had an ETD not showing Pensioner entitled to AA, when we knew that they did receive it. We rang the Pensions Service and were told that if a Pensioner has a non-dependant living with them, and this stops them getting the Severe Disability Premium, then they will not put the AA on the ETD.
This seems a rediculous notion, as surely they must know that AA will affect Housing/Council Tax Benefit. I hope I’m not the only one who didn’t know they did this, or maybe that the Pension Service had assessed this case incorrectly. If they don’t always put the AA on the ETD then we would have to send a RAT or LA17 for every Pensioner claim with N-deps to check for AA.
Has anyone else heard anything about this?
