This call was raised with one of our larger software suppliers.

‘From 10 April 2006 the law allows us to recover overpayments from anyone who contributed to the overpayment. This can include a partner, a non dep or any other such person. How could recovery from a third party be enabled in through your benefits or debtors system?

If this requires a further system change, the system would have to allow a choice for recovery to continue from the claimant or from the third party should the claimant come back on to benefit’

Um, since when did the use of the word “enhancement” start to exclude “fit for purpose”?

I’m almost tempted to go off on one of those occasional rants. But, I’m biding my time for that….. 😉 . Suffice to say, I am still to see a HB/CTB system that is even close to doing what it should in totality. But, in fairness to the software houses, it’s only been nearly 19 years since the inception of the guts of the current scheme.

I do not think it would be appropriate to put the rant in the software board as they are system related – revealing which system it is.

Its not that academic though!.

I was also quite annoyed to find out that some 30 patches will come out mid April for the susidy software so we have to guess figures for annual accounts closedown. I guess we will see 30 more patches in November (hmm now may be giving too much away)

So, it’s not academic.

Digging into the historical vault of former names, I wonder if that’s a “Thirst” then….. or maybe we should rely on the “Miracle” instead?

Alternatively, could it be “IB(mes)S”?

I’m not convinced that Anita Sophocles can assist though.

And, Gomeaner is not in the frame at all as it’s only a workslow system.

Do all systems suffer from end of year problems?

We just want to assess the claims and not have to worry about patches and workarounds. 👿

Talk to other users – generally before buying the system and not the sites that they wat you to talk to. You may then get better systems.
