Partly a problem of my own making but I rashly stated in our local performance reports that we would succeed in awarding CTB to around 120 of 600 identified cases this year.

As it turns out, only those that have come from the Pension Service scans have been anywhere near sucessful and we are well away from our target. This is despite other activities such as roadshows, advertising etc. We do, however, create over 200 claims each month but these will be from other sources e.g. general economic climate, IS/JSA claims etc.

What I’d like to know is if there are any authorities that have tried take up campaigns this year and if they either achieved anything or not. Would also be interested in what budget you allocated to take-up.

that was a bit ambitious wasnt it!

borrowing the idea posted by a n other, i did a take up campaign in July/August for all those with high ctax and/or council tnt rent arrears – i sent letters to 167 people, directly resulting in 4 successful claims with benefits totalling over £3000

not a big hit, but it was for those claimants
