We have a housing association providing accommodation to vulnerable people. It manages part of its stock in partnership with a primary care trust. In addition to the core rent are 2 service charges; one for water and other for ‘agents service charge’. We have been advised that the agents service charge (quite substantial) is provided by the PCT and comprises shared charges such as cleaning and electricity. The tenure on their system is listed as being a ‘care & support project’.
Am I OK to pay this shared service charge? is this a common arrangement?
