We are going through our subsidy claim and have come across a bit of a problem.
Unfortunately it seems that some Hb cheques have been repaid on the system and paid out again despite the fact that they were in fact cashed.
We have therefore paid twice for the same period. We have to correct this by doing man debits – but a question has now arisen as to whether these debits are now recoverable as HB ops?
A colleague believes that they have read somewhere that dual payments of HB are not recoverable, however we are unsure about this. We have found one thing but only one person seemed to have that opinion. Does anyone else know anything about this sort of scenario or is anyone willing to express an opinion on this apart from “how could you have been so stupid”
