I am currently looking in to our Change of Circ’s PI’s and have noticed that we are incluiding in our Pi’s dates that are old.

Looking in to it more I found that we were recording, for PI purposes, dates were we had been notified that a change might occur although we did not receive notification that it had actually changed for months.

The best example was receiving a LA input Doc at the begining of may saything there was a potential entitlement to JSA but the Jobcentre plus not actually processeing JSA until middle of July. We had used the May date when really I think we should have used the July Date.

Does any agree or disagree with me??

    Thanks

We have a similar situation where customers advise us that they are [b:eb6e636b35]going to [/b:eb6e636b35]change address. This can be notified to us several weeks before the actual move. I have always taken the opinion that this is an advance notification of a change and the clock starts ticking from the date of the actual change ie the moving in date. Thi9s was outined in circ A10/2005.

    Hope this helps.

Agree with Jerikaz, you should be calculating the PI form the date the change actually occurs as until then it’s not technically a change at all.
