Fear I know the answer to this but in a vague hope someone may have a way around this:
Claimant on LHA receiving Top Up, rent is very low £380 per month. Property is bought and taken over by a new landlord who increases the rent to £520 still reasonable and below the current LHA rate. As she has not come within any of the 3 change in circs for the LHA to be reviewed she now has a bigger top up which we are looking at as DHP.

This situation actually affects 2 claimants renting 2 flats within the same property, so DHP will probably be paid on both. Apart from suggesting the stop their claims for a week and then reapply as a new claim can anyone think of a way we could use the new LHA rate from when the new landlord took over?

    Thanks for your help 🙂

Is this a lawful rent increase? I might be talking to your Housing Advice team.

Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery. The blossom is blighted, the leaf is withered, the god of day goes down upon the dreary scene, and—and in short you are for ever floored.
