change of address -board & attendance

    Has anyone decided how to deal with a change of address from non-LHA to possible LHA scheme – but where we are awaiting the ROD on whether or not it should be LHA (tenancy with board & attendance). Would you continue to pay HB for the new address on old scheme rate whilst awaiting decision? What if the rent at the previous address was higher than what it might be at the new address under old scheme or LHA? Payment on account cannot work can it?
    Can we manipulate the rent figure so it is low enough to avoid an overpayment and edit our letters to show what we have done or are people going to suspend and await ROD?

    Well on all of our LHA training courses we were pretty much told that TRS would be keeping anything with board on it (something about having to justify their existence….).

    As for our LA policy, have not had any of that yet


    I can’t think why you could not just make a payment on account with an indicative rent level,or suitably nominal rent, pending the RO’s decision regarding the “substance” of the rent payments.

    Ozzie’s mate – I would have thought the RO will be quite busy any way trying to work out six median rent levels for every BRMA in Britain every month.


    As there is no provision for a payment of account on a change of address, a partial suspension of the award would achieve the same result.
