Change of Circumstances date

    We are currently having problems agreeing on the correct date notification date for change of circumstances and would welcome opinions.
    The best way to explain our issue is probably via an example.
    1/10/07 – Claimant writes to inform us that they have had a pay rise but does not include any wage slips to support this.
    15/10/07 Wage slips received.
    Is the notification date (for PI purposes) 1/10/07 or 15/10/07.

    The MIS guide says

    “Count all days, not just working days. This must include any days when there are delays beyond the LA’s control, eg claimant’s failure to provide additional information, delays between the designated office or The Rent Service and the benefit processing centre and delays in obtaining the necessary information when the claim has been suspended.”
