This is the cause of some discussion….
    2 deps in household, CB is £17.45 & £11.70
oldest one becomes a non-dep and so CB stops.
Does the younger child then get £17.45 (well the parents) or does it remain at £11.70?

    Thanks

Yep. £17.45 for the oldest qualifying child. 8)

Thanks – probably seemed like a daft question!

I also thought £17.45 (kinda logical in’it!), but two colleagues here said they only got £11.70 when their eldest left..and this left us somewhat confused!

A person claiming CB is entitled to £17.45 for their oldest child and £11.70 for each child thereafter. However, when the oldest child becomes a non dep they are no longer a child and so there is a new oldest child and the £17.45 applies to them.

Does that help with the confusion?
