Until recently we faxed the Child Benefit office if we needed to confirm an award and they would send us a fax back.

Now the fax number is no longer working. We have called the Child Benefit office but they are only agreeing to send us information if we send them a letter on headed paper (which is rather slow for our purposes).

Is anyone else having this problem, or do you have a contact number I could ring to talk to them on?

As far as I am aware, as of 2 days ago, the fax number still works and they call us back with confirmation of the award.

They told us that the fax number IS working but there is only one number for all the LA’s in the UK. As such the fax is frequently completely overwhelmed.
