    Is anyone else out there having trouble accessing the DWP’s C.I.S. system this morning?

    Yep – more probs. The LA I’m with at the moment have been advised to wait for the ok before trying to use it again.

    An observation offered by a colleague may be of interest. Is it not more than a coincidence that CIS becomes more unreliable as more LAs start using it….?

    It’s lucky that CIS is the new reliable way of looking for benefits info…. it would be worrying if is wasn’t reliable. Or accurate…. 😯 But hey, it’s a national roll-out of a government computer system. And these are renowned for success….

    Although, thinking about it, for something to remain intact, it has to exist in the first place….. 😕

    Looks like the heat has got to it. Don’t know if you’ve seen this but it’s just come from LAST:

    Firstly, may I apologise for the problems you have been experiencing with CIS this week. I can assure you we are doing all we can to resolve these issues in conjunction with our Service Providers. We are fully aware of the issues these problems create for LAs.

    At this point in time I am unable to provide an indication of when the problems are likely to be resolved. We will advise you by email of progress.

    If in the meantime you no longer have access to the old RAT and are unable to download your ETDs, please advise us if you would like us to download for you, paper or floppy, and we will endeavour to do this. Please be aware that depending on numbers this could take some time and will of course mean waiting for the post. It may therefore be as quick to wait for the problems to be fixed unless you have a backlog of ETDs before this week.

    If you wish us to download for you please specify exact dates/files and the format [paper or floppy] you require

    No access to new rat, no access to old rat, no chance of getting through to the JC+ on the phone.
