I was going to resist the temptation, but…………..

DWP might have to resort to restraining orders against recalcitrant LA staff!!

Slightly more seriously, and worryingly, is the fact that CIS info is not necessarily confirmed by DWP when querying things on the telephone (on the odd occasion when one gets through!!). Usually I find it to totally contradict what I’ve just read!

    Left hand, right hand?!……………….

Do I know what I'm doing? The jury's out on that........................

ASBOs for CIS operatives…ASCISOs…which is an unfortunate acronym if you pronounce CIS as ‘kiss’.

Do LA staff [i:cb64f33856]really[/i:cb64f33856] say ‘kiss’?

We have got through to discuss a couple of these. One read something completely different to what we could see and another said they didnt refer to CIS but used something else?

I don’t think most DWP staff have access to CIS – yet. 😉
Having said that, many of the above points you mention are exactly the same as those experienced on the RAT, and we seem to have been accessing C.I.S. (no, Andy, the LA staff here do not call it “kiss”) all afternoon ok.

No squiggle on this keyboard, so I will have to sign off as the Training officer formally known as Jon 8)

    Here, it’s known as ‘SISS’.

I believe the time lag to be about 48 hours. It certainly doesn’t update overnight. Our local DWP is tracking a new claim to see how long it takes.

I may be preaching to the choir, but it needs to be remembered that CIS is not the same as the RAT. With the RAT, you were actually looking at one dialogue screen that the DWP didn’t have access do that was simply a snapshot of other dialogues, and the notepad screen was directly from their ISCS or JSAPS system. CIS is neither of these; it’s replaced DCI. DCI holds information from all systems, so won’t be holding notepad. Local DWP staff do not have access to update CIS; it updates itself from the Legacy systems.

When you consider that DCI was (apparently) the largest database system in the world, then you can see that Siss has it’s work cut out.

So no-one calls it ITIFLA then.
