Hi, we have recently had CIS installed and are finding some of the screens confusing. Has anyone managed to put together a manual which explains where to look for information and what to look for when viewing different benefit screens? I have cascaded a copy of bulletin G6/2006 which explains the JSA awards. Any other help/advice would be most helpful. 😆

Didn’t your staff receive training before being let loose on this system? Our Local Authority cascaded training to the staff and then staff had to sit a quiz/test at te end to see how well they had learned the system, then were given a certificate with the percentage they got.

The systems screens are easy enough to use, if they want to check the breakdown of an Income on the Award History, they can click on the details button at the side of that award and it will give further details.

I did the training at my authority and used the training tool given by DWP plus did tasks etc but the information given does not help to interpret the information that CIS gives you.

ie reconciled or unreconciled on a child when seeing if awarded CHB. I was told to assume they are getting chb but the reason it shows as unreconciled is that they did not have evidence when IS awarded etc.

One circular was issued about understanding the JSA screens but thats all.

Unfortunately there is nothing in the training pack to assist you with the real deal!!!

You could try emailing/phoning the LAST team:

Maybe if we bombard them with enough questions they might decide to issue a manual and/or a key to deciphering the information on CIS (which they probably should have done in the first place).

When viewing Savings Credit, we can only see the AIF figure. Previous posts have mentioned an AIF tab where a breakdown can be seen but i have searched for this when viewing a Savings Credit claim and it hasn’t been there. Perhaps we can all work out what’s going on with CIS if we put all our knowledge together.
