    We have received an LA input document with an original claim date for JSA(Cont) and HB/CTB in June. The Job Centre have now backdated the JSA to April – as it was a joint claim also for HB/CTB should we follow suit and if so would it be a revised date of claim or backdate – the claimant has requested backdating from us as well. The backdate was granted on the basis of the claimant’s son having a severe accident and parts of the claim going astray several times. Thanks

    I think that the claim date remains the same ie June. Particularly as JSA(C) award, you will also need to make your own decision on whether to b/date the HB.
