    date of 1st contact at dwp 18.04.06

    customer statement rec’d 06.06.06

    JSA(IB) awarded from 14.04.06.

    From what date would HB be awarded?

    We’ve come up with similar situations here and a colleague of mine called JSA to try and find out why there was a delay between first point of contact and customer statement. The conclusion was, that as it wasn’t the claimant’s fault there had been a delay, the first point of contact/JSA start date should be used as their claim date.

    A bit more info needed….

    The customer statement – was the received date at the LA? And, when was the “claim” first received at the DWP for them to have a basis on which to issue a “statement”?
