    I know this should be simple but…

    JSA Cont and IB claimed

    date of first contact – 07.04.06
    customer statement – 26.05.06

    LA doc received 07.06.06

    JSA conts awarded..?? when claim starts.

    If LA doc means a LAID from the Jobcentre, date of claim is the date of first contact – he has got his application in within one calendar month of first contact (just). The fact that he is in receipt of JSA(C) is irrelevant.

    07.04.06 – first contact

    26.05.06 – more than a bit over month.. we thought it should either be from when we received LAID or if anything when CStatement received by DWP.

    My apologies, I mis-read the dates…it’s two months between first contact and the LAID isn’t it?

    In that case, yes, I’d go by the CStatement (unless there is an earlier first contact date on the LAID itself which you can use?).
