This is one of those really embarrassing questions that seems impossible to me on a Monday morning.

If we award full CTB (Passported or otherwise) we send a CTB notification letter, do we also have to send a Ctax bill showing the full award?

Pardon my Monday morning naivety (unable to get machine to put the umlaut, even though it’s a french word in origin!) but wouldn’t it generate a nil bill which ought to be sent to cover CT action, should recovery action on any subsequent charge on change of circs etc. occur?

Do I know what I'm doing? The jury's out on that........................

A bill is generated and printed by our ctax section who are responsible for issuing them, problem is, don’t think they are being issued.

(Don’t ask why the bills and letters are issued separately here.)

Same here, bills issued by different section to Benefits Unit. To be truthful I don’t know whether nil bills are pulled and not sent.

Have checked with our CT section who have advised that if it is a subsequent reduction to Nil then the bill has to be sent to advise of the cessation of payments requested but then any subsequent nil bill can be withheld if not required.

    Hope this helps!

Surely someone has a legal right to know that they have a zero bill?

My point was that all subsequent nil bills are looked at before issue and it is decided on a case by case basis. The first nil bill is sent following the change in circs but then the account is reviewed on the above basis.
