This may be a daft question but here goes…

Here at Aylesbury we have noticed a significant increase in both new claims and changes of circumstances over the past 6-8 weeks.

As a result, processing times are, for the first time in years, starting to slip a bit.

Are others finding the same thing yet? Is this the first signs of the impact of the credit crunch on Benefits?

We aren’t slipping back on the perf inds yet, but we are definitley noticing an increase in claims (mostly nil qual) and post. We are up 10% caseload in the first part of this year. 🙁

we’ve had 6% increase in private tnt non HA claims and 2% increase in CTB only claims – we’ve been in a mess from end of July to last wk – still catching up on cocs now as they are a month behind – we’ve had several local businesses go into administration and therefore lots more people need our help

and this could only be the calm before the storm………as more unfortunate people may lose their jobs
