Criminal Compensation Payments

    Can anyone advise whether the above payments are disregarded or not and if so how much.

    Having looked in the CPAG book, all we can find are references to Personal Injury awards.

    Sorry can’t find anything so I assume it is capital which you can’t disregard.

    Do I know what I'm doing? The jury's out on that........................

    I think you need to find out what the compensation payment is for. Many criminal compensation payments are in respect of victims of violent crime and paid by the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board – which would suggest that such a payment could be treated in a similar way to a personal injury payment.
