CTB only claim-start date

    CTB only CMS claim received. Date of first contact is 24.01.06.

    Can you just confirm the start date of the claim for me as this is causing chaos in my office.

    OK, I’ll have a go….

    If an IS/JSA case, then claim date would be 24/1/06 and if IS/JSA started earlier, it would be Monday after IS/JSA.

    If standard case, we used to take the ‘date claim statement received’ date on the LA Input Doc – though following 10 Nov changes, imagine, we can take the ‘first contact’ date again.

    If pensioner case, can go back 52 weeks…

    If new liability, if first contact was in same week, then start on actual day of new liability.

    How does this sound?

    Case is a JSA(C) case and liability is not new.

    If the LA Input Doc arrives in your office within 1 month of the first contact date, claim date will be the first contact date. Start date will be following Monday.
