    Hope someone can help.

Customer delayed moving into property and Tribunal decided he could have payment on two homes for the overlap period. However, as the property he moved to had already had a 6 month C-exemption, he is being charged for the period before he moved in, as well as his previous address.

Question is, can we pay CTB on both properties for overlap period?

    Simple answer – No.

They are only eligible for the proeprty that CTAX are treating them as resident in.

    Edited to amend context.

There is a scenario where 2 separately charged premises can both attract CTB, although it doesn’t appear to be relevant here.

If a clmt occupies / resides in two dwellings as if they are one single dwelling, CTB is payable on both dwellings. However, that isn’t the same as the 2-home overlap where someone is moving / has moved.
