CTR and 2AR

    Can anyone help with this please. Other than for our pensioner claims we are not having any second adult rebate. I am trying to set the schemes up but cannot actually see anything in the notes about this. I have looked and cannot see a parameter either under the schemes or elsewhere where you set yes or no to a 2AR scheme.

    The only way I can see to do it is to set the rate of 2AR to zero in the schemes where we do not want to award it then to enter the figures for the pensioner scheme.

    I have raised a call with Northgate but have as yet not heard anything.

    As is always the case no sooner do I post on here I get a response from Northgate. They give two options. Set the parameters to 0, or leave as they are, only migrate pensioners then try and ensure that staff do not set-up 2AR claims for working age people.

    I know which option I will be using.

    I’ve been testing this area also and we will only be allowing 2AR for pensioners. What I will advise you is that because you want to say Y to migrate 2AR in the migration process so that all your pensioners claims are migrated, before you do this you will need to cancel your existing working age 2AR claims from 31/3/2013 or else they will still show in your migration output.

    Hopefully, what this will do is migrate 2AR pensioner claims only, not migrate working age ones because you cancelled them and your working age ‘better buy’ cases will migrate over as CTR only becaseu you nilled the parameters in your base scheme which has filtered through all the schemes (with the pensioner one being the exception as you will need to overide this).

    I haven’t fully tested this out as didn’t cancel the working age 2ar claims, but found that they migrated, so the above is all theory but am hoping that it will all work! 😀

    I think I am just going to migrate the pensioner 2AR ones and leave the working age ones to expire. The number of 2AR claims we have is so small and we have already deicded to write to all the people who are currently going to lose out under CTR so we should be fine.
