defective claims and an appeal

    ok, cannie think this morning – here’s the scenario

    1) new claim received for a private tenancy 05/06/06
    2) letter issued for proof of lease and NINO 12/06/06
    3) ltr returned as ‘not know at this address’ 20/06/06
    4) claim cancelled 20/06/06 – no defective letter issued as no forwarding address known
    5) email appeal received nearly 2 months later 02/08/06

    So, if no defective letter has been issued, what is the date of the decision under appeal?

    is there a decision to appeal ?

    There is no decision until you have notified the claimant of the nil award decision.
