I have a pensioner case where a dependent child became a non dependent when child benefit ended aged 19.
Our system deferred the low non dep deduction for 26 weeks – is this correct, or should the deduction have been applied immediately? I have looked at the Regulation amendments (SI2003/2275) and the previous posts relating to deductions on this site, but am not clear how it affects this particular scenario.
    Any comments would be appreciated.

This was addressed in the Pension Credit External Questions Log 2 from the DWP. Their guidance was that the NDD should be applied immediately as the concession was aimed at new arrivals in the household (or an increase in ND income).

Thanks – I haven’ t been able to open that log on the DWP website for some reason; it keeps showing black pages.
