I have a case where a pension age customer moved into our LA area in March 2005. He was previously claiming HB & CTB at his previous address (outside of the LA area) He submitted a claim in September 2005.

Does anyone know if it is correct under the pensioner backdating rules to award his claim back to March 2005 as opposed to September 2005.

He had previously been awarded backdated benefit at the former LA.

    Many Thanks

Cannot think of any reason why not. The provisions in the regs. allow us to go back to a maximum of 12 months, at the start of a new claim for Benefit, if they would qualify for all this time.
I am not aware of any rider which says they can only get this once!! 8)
