Here in Bradford, we’ve been looking into the possible effects of ethnic diversity on our Council Tax collection rate. Although we rank near the top on most of the key deprivation indicators, we only collect 22.2% of our collectable debit through CTB. We suspect that this may be indicative of the ethnic diversity in the district and the possibility that we could have a higher proportion of extended households with the resulting CTB non-dependent deductions.
Has anyone else done any work in this area. If so would you be willing to share information or undertake some benchmarking?
