    Hiya,

I was wondering if anyone can help me.

Ive received an appeal from a claimant regarding her Housing Benefit claim. I wrote out for the necessary information, and upon checking the National Insurance number, its not actually hers. The wageslips and p60 have the nino on, but after checking cis this is definately not her nino. Ive asked for a dwp letter, but the clmt is yet to provide it, and she has now complained.

When checking the form, she is now living in a hostel, and she has stated on her claim form she has been living in this country since 1989.

Does the fact she is resident in a hostel, mean no nino proof is required, and Im ok to pay the claim. Or does the fact she has provided a false nino, and is actually using this on her wageslips mean the claim should remain lapsed.

Any help would be much appeciated 🙂

As the claimant has not satisfied SSAA 1, then there can’t be entitlement to benefit unless you can trace her NINO…
